They protect the inner surfaces of ceramic chimneys (exhausting wet fumes from oil and gas fired appliances), from the destructive functioning of acids.
Chimney liners are made of acid-resistant chrome-nickel stainless steel sheet (type 1.4404 according to DIN 17441) of thickness range from 0,5 to 1,0 mm. Their standard application is fume extraction from gas and oil fired heating devices, working in negative preassure conditions. These types of chimneys are resistant to corrosion process caused by acid condensate, produced during burning process.
